Sodexo Australia has secured a five-year contract extension with Westgold Resources to deliver integrated village services and industrial mine site cleaning across the company’s operations in Western Australia’s Goldfields and Murchison regions.
The renewed agreement, valued at more than $100 million over five years, covers five remote villages, including Westgold’s new Higginsville village, which was mobilised in December last year north of Norseman.
Under the contract, Sodexo will provide a range of services focused on supporting Westgold’s growing workforce, including village management, accommodation services for approximately 1500 rooms, catering and food services, industrial mine site cleaning, and recreation and leisure facilities.
The agreement is expected to support more than 100 jobs within Sodexo while creating additional employment and procurement opportunities across the Goldfields region.
The contract comes as Westgold continues to expand its accommodation infrastructure. Recent projects include a new 40-room development at the company’s Big Bell village, along with 40 new rooms at Bluebird village and 24 rooms at Fortnum.
Sodexo will also work alongside Westgold to deliver further expansion and refurbishment works across the villages, including additional accommodation, facility upgrades and new wastewater treatment projects at the Bluebird and Fortnum sites.
Sodexo Australia managing director Keith Weston said the company was pleased to continue its long-standing relationship with Westgold.
“We are thrilled to continue our engagement with Westgold as their supplier of choice in the Goldfields and Murchison,” Weston said.
“With an exciting expansion and refurbishment program in the pipeline, we remain focused on enhancing the hospitality experience for Westgold residents working away from home.”
Weston said the contract extension reflected a strong period of growth for Sodexo and aligned with the company’s long-term regional strategy.
“The Westgold contract extension follows a strong period of growth and retention for Sodexo, marking a key milestone in our strategy to strengthen our regional footprint, build long-term client relationships, and create meaningful social impact,” he said.
Westgold Resources managing director and chief executive officer Wayne Bramwell said the partnership had evolved over a number of years.
“Our relationship with Sodexo has developed over the years – and we value their team’s responsiveness to our evolving business needs, and their dedication to delivering an exceptional level of service,” Bramwell said.
“As we continue to grow, we look forward to working closely with Sodexo to deliver the accommodation and village amenities for our future workforce.”
